Polar Lights

Polar lights are created by charged particles, mainly electrons, emitted by the sun and entering Earth's atmosphere. There, they collide with gas atoms, leading to the emission of light. The color spectrum of polar lights depends on the type of gases the charged particles interact with. Useful links: NOAA Aurora 30 Minute Forecast; SpaceWeatherLive; Theusner Polar Lights Probability
