Moroccan refugees
Fig. 3: Moroccan refugees on their failed crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar. The engine of their small, completely overloaded rubber boat probably gave out when they tried to cross over at night. They were probably discovered by a Moroccan freighter named "Atlas Casablanca", which turned around in the middle of the journey. We were unsuccessful on the Firmm boat on this overcast morning in search of whales and dolphins.
